ABOUT BLAUVER

At Blauver we practice the blue-green revolution

In the 60s, the so-called green revolution, managed to dramatically increase global food production, thanks to the use of advanced technology and also to the indiscriminate use of chemical products.

This, however, led to terrible side effects: pollution of many aquifers, the loss of genetic diversity or the eutrophication of rivers, lagoons and deltas.

We need new ways of producing, which are even more efficient, but which also focus on the ecosystems where we produce food. So, we add a color to the green revolution: blue. The blue of planet Earth. This body that welcomes us that so often we have not taken into account.

In addition, the green and blue colors are due to chlorophyll and phycocyanin, two of the most important active principles of spirulina. So we propose a double revolution, where in addition to continuing to increase the efficiency of food production, we also take into account the natural balance of the places where food is produced

At Blauver we follow a very unique cultivation process. Under the greenhouse, we protect the spirulina from any external contamination, reduce water consumption by using shade nets and harvest early in the morning, when the spirulina has the highest percentage of proteins.

Can you visit the farm?

Whenever you want! You only have to make an appointment and you can come and see the facilities, meet our team and enjoy a delicious taste of spirulina. Plus for free!

This type of organic farming is based on understanding the field as a living organism. Its pillars include, among others, the restriction of chemicals, as well as understanding food as a living thing.

For many years, a spirulina drying technique known as spray dry was abused, where it was dried at very high temperatures, it lost most of its properties and the finish was the well-known spirulina powder . At Blauver we follow very respectful and natural production methods, while preserving the qualities that spirulina offers to our body and well-being.
