What is spirulina?
Blauver Foods, Joan

Spirulina is a micro algae with a great variety and quantity of vitamins, minerals, proteins and antioxidant elements that are beneficial for health. If it is artisanal, like the one we grow at Blauver, it is a highly nutritious and sustainable food that helps you balance your diet in a natural, easy and healthy way.

It has inhabited the planet Earth for more than 3.5 billion years.

Today it continues to contribute to reducing the greenhouse effect. Its photosynthetic capacity is comparable to a tropical forest.

This is how the UN classified it in 1974. And to this day it has been the only organization to be treated this way:

"One of the best foods for the future of humanity"

In 2003, the WHO created IIMSAM, an organization with the aim of promoting the use of spirulina to combat malnutrition.

In 2018, it was sent into space by the ESA (European Space Agency) in order to verify photosynthetic activity in space.

Fresh spirulina ca

Fresh spirulina is the purest way to consume spirulina

This is only possible if the crop is in an optimal state and the processing is carried out in a very careful manner.

The advantage of consuming fresh spirulina is comparable to the consumption of fresh fruit compared to dehydrated fruit. Fresh spirulina, in addition to preserving all the properties of artisanally dehydrated spirulina, allows you to consume a live and recently harvested product.
