Discover the new spirulina condiment
Dukkah is a traditional Egyptian condiment made with nuts, seeds and toasted, ground spices. In Egypt it has been eaten for centuries by dipping bread in olive oil and then in dukkah. Crunchy, aromatic and full of nuance.
We’ve given it a functional twist: adding our spirulina, grown and dried at low temperature on our farm run with staff with disabilities in Lleida. The result is a unique condiment, with the warm flavour of the spices and the nutritional plus of spirulina.
What’s inside?
Only organically farmed ingredients, with no additives or preservatives:
- Almond (50%) — the crunchy base
- Sunflower seeds
- Dried spirulina (10%) — dried at under 40 °C to preserve its nutrients
- Turmeric, coriander, cumin and black pepper — the spiced soul of dukkah
- A pinch of salt
What is it for? Ideas for using it every day
Dukkah is one of those condiments that, once it enters your kitchen, never leaves. Sprinkle it directly, without cooking, just before serving:
- Salads — brings the crunchy touch they usually lack
- Creams and soups — pumpkin, courgette, carrot… it transforms any cream
- Eggs — over poached, scrambled or fried eggs
- Avocado and toast — your usual breakfast, on another level
- Roasted vegetables and hummus — a classic dukkah combination
- Egyptian style — bread, extra virgin olive oil and dukkah. As simple as that.
Small but nutritious
Every spoonful counts. This dukkah contains 24% protein and is:
- High in fibre (11.9 g per 100 g)
- High in vitamin E (193% of the reference value per 100 g), which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative damage
- High in iron and vitamin B6, which contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue
- High in magnesium, zinc and selenium
All this with no added sugars and only 1.9 g of salt per 100 g.
Made here, like everything we do
The spirulina in this dukkah is grown by us in Almenar, with water from the Pyrenees and artisanal methods. We are the only farm in Spain that produces and markets its own spirulina. When you taste our dukkah, you also taste our way of doing things: with calm, with rigour and with respect for the land.
