In Blauver we believe that health comes not only through the mouth, but also through the decisions we make. That’s why today we want to talk about the RE-VALUE TERRITORY project, a beautiful initiative that connects with our way of understanding food: natural, conscious and rooted in the territory.
This project, promoted by a group of Catalan agri-food companies and organizations, has a very clear objective: to give a second life to products and co-products that are usually wasted, but which have a high nutritional value. We are talking, for example, about xerigot (the liquid that remains after making cheese), apples and pears that do not reach the stores, legumes, honey… and our beloved spirulina, our key food.
Reuse to feed better
One of the smartest ways to avoid food waste is to look for new ways to reuse food. And it’s not just about reusing, but creating new food products that are healthier, more natural and with more nutritional value. In short, transforming what used to be thrown away into something good for you and the planet.
In addition, this initiative promotes collaboration between different companies in the territory. This is what we know as circular economy: working together to reduce waste, optimize resources and build a network of mutual support between small producers and processors.
Territory that nurtures and inspires
One of the great values of the RE-VALORA TERRITORIO project is, precisely, the territory. Because behind each ingredient there is a history, a landscape, a way of doing things. And because when we take care of the Earth, it also takes care of us. To revalue these products is also to revalue the work of so many families who live and work in rural environments, often invisibilized.
With a total budget of more than 204,708.33€, and with the support of almost 170,000 € in grants, this project aims to:
- Reuse foods with high nutritional potential.
- Create new, varied, good and healthy foods.
- Encourage collaboration between local companies.
- To make our country’s agri-food sector more competitive.
- Share the results with the entire industry so that they can benefit.
In Blauver we are especially excited to be part of an ecosystem like this, where innovation is not disconnected from nature or people. Because eating well is taking care of yourself. And taking care of the territory is taking care of all of us.
We are still committed to a diet that adds up. And you, are you in?
